June 25, 2008

Are we lagging behind the World? I dont think so, not atleast on paper. This is the list of eGovernance initiatives from India as reported in compendium of eGovernance by UNPAN. No wonder most of them are based in the capital [NCR].

This is the not so exhaustive list of eGovernance Projects in India. With due respect to these initiatives I think there are many areas which can leave greater impact than those in the list.

You must be now wondering what the heck is eGovernance is it not some super woofer complex thing? Well the definition is not so complex.

“E-Government” refers to the use by government agencies of information technologies (such as Wide Area Networks, the Internet, and mobile computing) that have the ability to transform relations with citizens, businesses, and other arms of government

We should be happy that there is some progress atleast in providing simple, clean, transparent & Responsive Administration. Trying to read few of these reports, Some of them are very interesting like gyandoot, drishti etc..

PS: I still remember the 1st Constn Amendment Act Posting. Act is little long so will take more time. Glory to Panditji till then.

Tryst with Destiny & Some thoughts

June 24, 2008

Speech of Jawaharlal Nehru which is continiously quoted as one of the best speeches in the world.

This particular part of the speech attracted me specially,

The future beckons to us. Whither do we go and what shall be our endeavour? To bring freedom and opportunity to the common man, to the peasants and workers of India; to fight and end poverty and ignorance and disease; to build up a prosperous, democratic and progressive nation, and to create social, economic and political institutions which will ensure justice and fullness of life to every man and woman.

This was the main agenda of Nehru Administration. Needless to say it still remains unfulfilled and sounds very idealistic he was such a great man with hope and belief on the best of every human being and wanted nothing but the best to happen always for the Humanity.

Hopefully the third generation from Nehru would fight for it willingly.

When i started reading this paragraph separately from the speech , Some assumptions I have about the great Panditji were reinforced. This speech reflects the socialistic nature of Nehru’s Thoughts. Now that i remember he moved the first amendment of constitution to incorporate this idealistic socialism into the very structure of constitution which is not clearly understood by some unscrupulous people [ I was recently reading some articles which were criticizing nehru for moving the 1st constitutional amendment and even worse heaving praise up on some right wing communal leaders (Hindu Mahasabha) ]. Doubting people like Nehru is the worst and it is nothing short of [ As chalam in Srisri's Mahaprasthanam preface says.. "Atma lokam lo diwala" AKA Moral bankruptcy].

He worked like a machine to the improvement of India in the way he thought was relevant to india. His industrialization policies & emphasis on Planning were criticized now, But those were ruling roost in the era of Nehru and Rise of Soviet Russia. He simply tookup what was best for the nation and do you find fault with him for that? Blaming nehru now for his decisions then would be like Finding fault with BSNL for laying long cables for Landlines arguing that people are now using Mobile phones. Simply put it the impression he left on World and Every Indian is everlasting. More analysis on 1st constitution amendment to follow. Till then say Loud,

Jawaharlal Nehru Amar rahe ! Long live Republic of India.
